The Road Safety and Simulation Conference was established in Rome in 2007 as a biannual platform for researchers and professionals of different research backgrounds and expertise where to share individual experience and state-of-the-art research in the area of road safety and simulation.
The main aim of the Conference is to improve upon the existing knowledge in the area of road safety and contribute to reduce number of accident fatalities and injuries occurring worldwide, through the dissemination of innovative research and applications.
The RSS Conference is hosted every two years by a local organisation, such as a research institution, a scientific organisation, a university or a national agency. These are identified by the Permanent Steering Committee among candidates submitting an application to the "Call for hosting the upcoming RSS meeting".
Candidates eligible as the hosting instituions are required to propose a Conference theme, that must fall in the framework of the main RSS Conference areas of interest. In addtion, proposals must include a plan of conference scientific activities, podium and poster sessions, technical tours, workshops and a general overview of the organisation framework.
